Rachel Frederickson Gains 20 Pounds, Says She's at 'Perfect Weight'
"Biggest Loser" winner Rachel Frederickson is now at her perfect weight, which is 20 pounds heavier than she was at the final weigh-in that shocked everyone, including her trainers. She also explained her new routine and diet which is keeping her at her ideal weight.
"I've gone up about 20 pounds," Frederickson told Us Weekly. "I think I'm at my perfect weight!"
Frederickson's gaunt appearance stunned fans and the "Biggest Loser" trainers alike. All three offered statements about her weight loss in the wake of the backlash from fans. Even though Frederickson was pleased with her weight loss, fans of the series worried about her health, given that she lost 160 pounds in eight months. Frederickson later explained that she may have been too zealous in her attempt to win the prize.
"Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in my training to get to the finale," Frederickson told People. "I am very, very healthy."
But now that things have settled down, Frederickson is getting used to her new routine and making sure that she is taking care of herself and doing what she needs to in order to keep healthy.
"I work out an hour, six days a week. I love classes like SoulCycle," Frederickson told Us. "I also loosely count calories, but sometimes I might eat an Oreo. It's not the end of the world. We have monthly calls with the other contestants and the show psychologist. And our nutritionist is available 24/7. I'll call her from the farmers' market and say, 'What is this? How would I cook it?'"
Now Frederickson is grateful for the backlash she received after the big reveal. She even calls it a "gift" because "it started a discussion about body image. That's huge."
Trainer Dolvett Quince, who worked closely with Frederickson, was right when he posted on Facebook that her "journey to good health had not yet ended."
