Radio Bible Allies Mark One Year of Broadcasting into China

An alliance of three ministries estimates its Radio Bible Project has reached more than 10 million people with the Word of God since the first broadcast last year.

An alliance of three ministries will complete one year of broadcasting Bible-based programming into China on Mar 24, 2005. The alliance estimates its Radio Bible Project has reached more than 10 million people with the Word of God since the first broadcast last year.

Since March 2004, the alliance consisting of the International Bible Society (IBS), Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) and Trans World Radio (TWR) has aired its 15-minute radio programs, offering “dramatized, word-for-word Scripture, introduction, explanation of biblical background, teaching, and application using the Life Application Bible notes,” as reported by IBS. The allies also distributed printed Bibles with study notes and Scripture recordings on cassette tapes/CDs to church leaders as part of the project.

“God is using partnerships to bring His Word to those who have been locked away from Him due to illiteracy and poverty,” stated Morgan Jackson, International Director for FCBH. “We rejoice in the partnership with IBS and TWR and believe this project will allow millions to become disciples by hearing the whole New Testament and major stories of the Old Testament.”

TWR’s President and CEO, Dr. David Tucker, said “The Radio Bible brings together in a wonderful mix the inerrant Word of God in a dramatized format, and the special gift of God to our generation—radio. With this combination, the ‘Word comes to life,’ particularly for those in oral societies.“

“I am excited to think of the spiritual fruit this partnership brings to the glory of our Lord,” Tucker added.

Meanwhile, IBS President Peter Bradley stated, “The potential of releasing God’s power through His Word through the Radio Bible Project is beyond measure. We anticipate reaching many millions of people who speak any one of 22 languages over the next five years with the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

With FCBH’s vision to “bring His Church together and make disciples,” and TWR’s passion to “reach the world for Christ by mass media,” and IBS’s faithfulness to translating and reaching out with God’s Word,” the alliance will be looking forward to a very fruitful second year in China.

According to IBS, each 15-minute radio program is also available on the Internet at www.ktwr.net.
