'Rainbow Six Siege' News: Number of Available Operators Could Climb Significantly in Years Ahead

Additional game modes may not be coming any more to 'Rainbow Six Siege'

There are already plenty of new additions coming to "Rainbow Six Siege" this year, though there are even more new features that could be eventually introduced in the years ahead.

Speaking recently to PC Gamer, brand director Alexandre Remy touched on what fans can expect to see from the game in the future, and apparently, there's a lot for them to look forward to.

Specifically, Remy indicated that plenty of new Operators could still be released for the game.

According to PC Gamer, Remy noted, "The moment that we hit 50 Operators, that's the minimum that we actually want."

Given that Remy refers to 50 as a "minimum," that obviously indicates that they have plans beyond that. Remy elaborated on that, sharing that the plan is for the increased number of Operators to give players more options to choose from as opposed to forcing their hand and making them pick a certain character because they need to.

Remy then cites MOBAs, otherwise known as multiplayer online battle arenas, as examples of games that can still provide enjoyable experiences even though their character counts can reside from 80 to 100.

While additional Operators may be on their way to "Rainbow Six Siege," players should probably not expect to see new game modes added anytime soon.

In the same PC Gamer report, creative director Xavier Marquis commented on the idea of adding new game modes, indicating that "it's something that we do not want to do."

Remy provided more details regarding that decision, revealing that they have now shifted their focus to updating the game by introducing more of those aforementioned Operators as well as new maps.

As fans wait for those future plans to be fleshed out further, they can go ahead and prepare for what's coming to the game for the rest of this year.

According to the game's Year Two roadmap, additional content spread out across three seasons will still be coming to the game this year, with new features such as Operators, maps and even weapons among those expected to be released.

More news about the additions coming to "Rainbow Six Siege" should be made available soon.
