'Rainbow Six Siege' Patch 1.3: Ubisoft Rolls Out Anti-Cheating Measures and Other Fixes
Developer Ubisoft has recently announced the latest update to hit "Rainbow Six Siege." Patch 1.3 rolls out with cheating countermeasures and other fixes.
"Today we are sharing our third update," Ubisoft said in its Patch Notes. "This one is smaller because we felt we needed to quickly fix some issues."
The update brings an important change in the game's cheating and ban policy. It removes the three-day suspension for players caught cheating for the first time and replaces it with a more heavy and long-term punishment. With Patch 1.3, Ubisoft will issue a permanent ban on any player who is detected by the system to be cheating.
Ubisoft also addressed the issue of defending players who wander outside during the preparation stage in a match. Like the heavy cheating punishment, Patch 1.3 will bring instant death to any player caught exiting the restricted area during preparation.
Patch 1.3 also updates the server tick rate for console users. This is expected to improve hit registration.
Other fixes include:
- Partial fix of Error [2-0x00000041].
- Potential full fix of the loading screen freeze (smoke background)
- Potential full fix of the failed data synchronization issue
- Session authentication operation requests are now using the per data center proxy instead of the Dev one.
- Improved error tracking, for easier issue identification
- Ranked match reconnection fixes for PC:
- If game was closed by pressing [x] or ALT+F4, the players will not be leaving all sessions anymore.
- Players leaving a Ranked match by pressing F10 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
- Players leaving a Ranked match by quitting with ALT+F4 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
- Various smaller connectivity and crash fixes
"Rainbow Six Siege" Patch 1.3 took effect on Wednesday, Jan. 13, for PC and will take effect on Jan. 20 for consoles, except server tick rate improvement, anti-cheating measures, and out-of-zone insta-kill option that were rolled out immediately on Tuesday.
Ubisoft also announced that it will be releasing a "much bigger patch," Patch 2.0, which is expected to include two new operators, a new map, and new weapons and gadgets. The update will be released for PCs and consoles at the same time on Feb. 2.
