Rapper Machine Gun Kelly Accused of Stomping Out Laptops in Microsoft Store
Rapper and Bad Boy recording artist Machine Gun Kelly was scheduled to perform at the Microsoft Store in Atlanta, Georgia's Lenox Square Mall last week for The Source's Power 30 reception.
During his performance, sources claim that Kelly jumped on top of a table with laptops and other electronics and began stomping on it and damaging the merchandise.
Kelly issued a statement where he denies destroying any of the electronics.
"Last Friday, I was asked to perform at The Source's Power 30 reception and [was] honored to do so. My only goal was to give a great performance," he said." Contrary to what is being reported in the media, I did not stomp on any computers, damage any store property nor were the police called on my behalf. There was some confusion as to where I should perform. But, in the end, it was all resolved. I'd like to thank The Source for the opportunity and let the people at Microsoft know I meant no disrespect."
Microsoft also issued a statement related to Kelly's performance.
"On Sept. 28, The Source held a private event at the Microsoft Lenox Square Store. We offer our stores as a venue for the community to use, and this event was not sponsored by Microsoft," said the company. "While the artist's behavior was appropriate for the concert, some of it was not appropriate in a store environment."
Kelly is no stranger to causing chaos, as the rapper organized a flash mob at a Cleveland Mall in September of last year. The stunt led to his arrest and charges of disorderly conduct.
Kelly's debut album, Lace Up will be released on Oct. 9 through Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records label.
