Ray J and Whitney Houston: Singer Rushed to Hotel, Turned Away by Police

Artist Ray J, who has been linked to Whitney Houston, was distraught after learning of her death and reportedly kept saying, "Whitney dead. Whitney dead. We all gotta live with that."

Reports state that he rushed to Houston's hotel upon learning of her death but was turned away by police officers. He had requested to go in the room to be with Houston but was denied.

When he finally left, he kept repeating the words: "Whitney dead. Whitney dead. We all gotta live with that. We all gotta live with that."

He told reporters that he had no comment, but the two had been seen together on Feb. 3. of this year.

Their relationship had been reported back in 2010, after Houston's divorce from Bobby Brown. Ian Drew told ABCNews.com that Ray J "was her big, eyebrow-raising relationship after Bobby."

On Feb. 10, Ray J appeared on "The Insider" to discuss his new book "Death of the Cheating Man." He was asked about his relationship with Houston and stated, "You know, they blow this thing out of proportion. I mean, that's my friend. I've been knowing her for years and years and years, and she's a friend of the family. I have a lot of love for her, and I have a lot of respect for her."

"Our friendship is something that people might not understand, maybe because of the age difference, but we've always just been friends. We hug, we laugh, and we go out to dinner… We talk about, you know, different things in our lives and she's a cool person," Ray J added.

"We've always kept our relationship as private as we could, but when we go out, she's such an icon, it reaches the masses. But, for the most part, we've always been friends and we've kept everything hush-hush and just quiet, and we really don't focus on that." said the R&B singer.
