Ray J at Beverly Hilton After Whitney Houston's Death
Contrary to popular reports, Ray J did not find Whitney Houston's body at the Beverly Hilton.
The singer-songwriter did rush to the Beverly Hilton when he learned of her death and asked to be let into her room, but police prevented him from actually entering the room. After a while he walked away, muttering, "Whitney dead. Whitney dead. We all gotta deal with that. We all gotta deal with that."
Ray J, who had an on-again, off-again relationship with Houston, was seen comforting her daughter, Bobbi, before the rest of the world learned the news. He refused to speak to reporters at the scene and instead took comfort from his sister, Brandy, as the two attended a pre-Grammys brunch hosted by Ne-Yo.

Houston and Ray J were last seen together on Feb. 3 of this year.
Their relationship had first been reported in 2010, after Houston's divorce from Bobby Brown. Ian Drew told ABCNews.com that Ray J "was her big, eyebrow-raising relationship after Bobby."
On Feb. 10, Ray J appeared on "The Insider" and spoke of his relationship with Houston.
"Our friendship is something that people might not understand, maybe because of the age difference, but we've always just been friends. We hug, we laugh, and we go out to dinner… We talk about, you know, different things in our lives and she's a cool person," Ray J said.
"We've always kept our relationship as private as we could, but when we go out, she's such an icon, it reaches the masses. But, for the most part, we've always been friends and we've kept everything hush-hush and just quiet, and we really don't focus on that."
He has not spoken publicly since learning of Houston's death, but fans are leaving condolences on his website and Twitter page.
"Hey Ray J. I am so sorry for your loss. There is no one like Whitney. I will miss her so much. Be blessed okay. And keep your head up. Love you," wrote Nadine Fitzgerald.
"You have my condolences. Whitney was a wonderful person, I was anticipating her in Sparkle. Prayers for you & her fam (sic)," added Aubrey McMillian.
