The British Razzie nominees have been announced, and Kirk Cameron, along with his film "Saving Christmas" has been nominated for six awards.

"Saving Christmas" and Cameron received nominations in the following categories: Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor, Worst Supporting Actress (Brigitte Ridenour), Worst Director (Darren Doane) and Worst Screen Combo (Kirk Cameron and his ego). The film tied with "The Legend of Hercules" and came in second for most nominations; "Transformers: Age of Extinction" took the lead with seven nominations.

The documentary about the history of Christmas, as told by Cameron, received a great deal of criticism from the public. It was voted the worst-ever film on IMDB in Dec, but Cameron championed the movie and encouraged viewers and his followers to see the film and "save Christmas." He used social media to try and improve the film's low rating at Rotten Tomatoes.

"Help me storm the gates of Rotten Tomatoes. All of you who love Saving Christmas—go rate it at Rotten Tomatoes right now and send the message to critics that WE decide what movies we want our families [to] see. If 2,000 of you (out of almost 2 million on this page) take a minute to rate Saving Christmas, it will give the film a huge boost and more people will see it as a result! Thank you for all your help and support in putting the joy of Christ back in Christmas," Cameron posted on Facebook.

He previously blamed "haters and atheists" for the low rating on Rotten Tomatoes and said that they were "attempting, once again, to ruin Saving Christmas for everyone. Look at their language, vulgarity, and spirit of hate."

Some received the film with open arms and extended its initial two-week run to a full month. Viewers managed to expand its limited release to over 400 theaters. It concluded its run on Nov. 28 but has remained in the headlines ever since. Cameron recently released a new brand of coffee inspired by the film.

"We saved Christmas. Now, taste the glory," the tagline for the beverage reads.
