Ready at Dawn Unleashes New Videos for 'The Order: 1886'
"The Order: 1886" has been in development for over three years now, but Ready at Dawn Studios is now going full force with promoting its release, revealing a new trailer and gameplay demos.
The studio kicked things off with two gameplay demos revealed at the recent Tokaigi Japan Game Party 2015 held from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 in Chiba.
The first demo is just over three minutes long, while the second demo is almost eight minutes long. The commentary is in Japanese though, but most gamers will still be able to see the game in action.
Ready at Dawn also managed to snag a Super Bowl television spot, unveiling a short trailer during Sunday's game. The commercial featured some previously seen gameplay sequences and cut scenes, as well as quoting big name gaming publications that called the game "Unbelievable Gorgeous," "Crazy Ambitious and Highly Cinematic" and "Visually Looks Phenomenal."
Ru Weerasuriya, the creative director of the game, was also recently interviewed by a Taiwanese website, said that there was a lot to be proud about concerning the game.
According to him, there was no difference between high resolution and low resolution assets, because they made sure everything was as detailed as possible all the time. They also paid attention to the physics of cloth and everything that moves with the wind, and also kept the sceneries expansive and detailed as possible.
"The Order: 1886" is set in Victorian era London in the middle of a centuries old war, and it follows the adventure of Sir Galahad, who is a member of the elite order of Knights. The Knight travels on to fight against a powerful threat and hopefully end the war.
The official PlayStation Blog referred to the game as one that will offer gamers a "visceral, cinematic storytelling experience" the likes of which gamers have never seen before on a gaming console.
It's a pretty tall order, but gamers can judge it for themselves when the game comes out on exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 20.
