'Real Housewives' Danielle Staub Returns? Reality Star 'Filming Several Episodes'
Former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Danielle Staub is set to return to the hit reality TV show for season five, it has been claimed.
The 50-year-old mother of two, who became widely unpopular among her cast mates during seasons 1 and 2 of the popular show, confirmed having a meeting with Bravo TV host Andy Cohen in October and while she is yet to confirm her return she has reportedly been offered a formal contract.
"Bravo has offered Danielle a contract," a source reportedly told In Touch magazine, adding that she is contemplating whether this will be full-time or part-time."
Bravo TV executives allegedly offered Staub the new gig in a bid to revamp the show, following two seasons of the same recurring drama. Breakout star Teresa Giudice, who was joined by her family members on the show in season three, has been at the center of family drama for several months.
"[Danielle' will be filming several episodes. The producers squeezed all the juice they could from the Giudices-versus-Gorgas storyline," a second source said.
"[They] had to think of a fresh outlet for drama. Having [Danielle] back on will ruffle a lot of feathers!" the source added.
On Wednesday it was claimed that network producers had made drastic changes to the cast ahead of season five, and both Caroline Manzo and Kathy Wakile are reportedly being replaced by new housewives.
Giudice, 40, her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, 35 and Jacqueline Laurita, 38 will reportedly return to the show with newcomers Noelle Brescia, Gia Casey and Priscilla DiStasio. All new members are said to be close friends with Giudice, according to AllThingsRH.com.
It was previously claimed that Manzo, who received widespread backlash for admittedly bullying Giudice on the show, was trying to have the mother of three fired by Bravo executives. Despite her reported efforts, she was ultimately given the boot, reports claim.
"[Caroline's] been trying to get the other ladies to all gang up on Teresa and make some kind of ultimatum of 'Teresa or us' to Bravo producers, she believes that could work, but I think she is seriously underestimating the star power of Teresa," a source previously told Reality Weekly.
