'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Producers to Sign 'Villain' Faye Resnick in Season 5? 'It Comes Down to Money'
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" producers are reportedly considering signing Faye Resnick on as a full time "housewife" in season 5.
The reality TV villain ruffled feathers amongst the season 3 cast as a recurring cast member due to her boorish behavior and despite her being extremely unpopular amongst viewers, Bravo TV producers believe that adding her may boost the show's ratings. In January, Resnick insisted that whole she "enjoyed" being on the show, she is not interested in a fulltime gig.
"Producers are seriously considering making a formal offer to Faye to become a series regular cast member," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"She has been a controversial in the past when she appeared on the show and is a close friend and ally of Kyle. Plus, Faye isn't afraid to stand up to the other ladies!" the source added.
Resnick is best known for testifying against O.J. Simpson during his infamous 1995 murder trial months before going off to pose nude for a men's magazine. She is a close friend of veteran housewives both Kyle and Kim Richards.
"She is no shrinking violent and could be a great asset to the show," said another insider.
"Producers want the new cast members of the Beverly Hills to have been friends previously," another source revealed.
Bravo TV producers reportedly approached Resnick about appearing in season 4, however, she was reluctant due to backlash, which at one point was so severe that it led to death threats.
"Faye declined to appear on the show this past season because of all the negative feedback she got from last season," said a source.
"It will come down to money. How much is Bravo willing to fork out to get her on the show? Then again, she does have a very successful interior design business that could benefit from being promoted on the show," the insider revealed.
The report follows claims suggesting new additions Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud are facing the axe.
The season four additions appeared to divide the group when they each made their respective debuts and while there has been no shortage of drama since episode one premiered, they will likely not be asked to return for season five. Insiders claim Bravo TV producers are eager to replace Gebbia and Giraud because viewers do not find them exciting enough, according to TMZ.com.
Kim, who is Kyle's sister is reportedly also on the chopping block due to her alleged lack of a storyline.
"The network is not entirely happy with the ratings for the current season of Beverly Hills and sadly, despite being Paris Hilton's aunt, [Kim] has little going on in her life," a production source told RadarOnline.com. "Viewers don't care about watching Kim's dog getting training. It's boring!"
