'Real Housewives of New Jersey' News: Season 7 Still Up in the Air
Season 6 of the reality television series "Real Housewives of New Jersey" on the Bravo network ended almost a year ago, but the show's future is still up in the air, with no official announcement from the network whether it will be coming back for a Season 7 or not.
A report in the Inquisitr asks the question "Is the show being cancelled?" after all this time. The report cited that the cancellation may mainly be because the show has lost its "authenticity," something that viewers look for in reality TV shows.
One of the reports indicate that one of the show's cast members, Teresa Giudice, who is currently serving a federal prison sentence for fraud and is scheduled for release in February 2016, was reportedly offered by the network a whopping $1 million to return to the show's next season. This caused a backlash among the other cast members who apparently were not being offered up anything.
According to another report in the Christian Post, the show's drama may have gotten "too real" for the viewers, especially when the cast's troubles went from bad to worse when most of them were already facing financial and legal problems. The show's appeal, according to the report, was strong when "it allowed people to express both their envious and judgmental sides."
In another report in Enstars however, the reason being cited for the show's waning success is the fact that there may not be enough drama to carry the show through another season. As mentioned, only Giudice's life after prison is remotely interesting to viewers. The only other couple in the cast which may bring some of the drama are the Lauritas, who are struggling with providing care for their autistic son amidst their financial and legal troubles.
If the show's previous season was any indication, the report said that nothing the network did to improve the show's performance worked.
