'Real Housewives of New York' News: LuAnn de Lesseps Speaks About Bethenny Frankel's Return
Bethenny Frankel is about to make her much-awaited return to "The Real Housewives of New York." RHONY cast member Countess LuAnn de Lesseps was on "Watch What Happens Live" on Tuesday, Feb. 3, and the 49-year old talked about Frankel's return as well as what's been going on in the lives of the original cast members namely Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, and Jill Zarin.
"You know it's funny," said de Lesseps, "To have Bethenny back is like old times. It's like the good old days. You know, you'd be surprised."
Frankel is coming back to show four years after she left the Bravo reality series for a wedding, a baby, her own talk show, and her business empire Skinnygirl. Frankel has since split from husband Jason Hoppy, and her talk show, "Bethenny" has been cancelled, and the last episode aired on July 4, 2014.
De Lesseps said that fans can expect surprising developments in the show upon Frankel's return.
"This season, she gets along with people that you wouldn't expect her to get along with, and hates people you wouldn't expect," said de Lesseps. "It's exciting to watch her work it with all the girls. We talk about a lot of the old days too."
Frankel will be joining Sonja Morgan, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill, who are all part of the main cast. Singer and de Lesseps have been demoted to recurring cast roles.
In October, Frankel confirmed that she was returning to RHONY in a blog post on her official website.
"After many years of hesitation, I have decided to return to my roots on 'The Real Housewives of New York City," she wrote. "I have been through a long and arduous road since my departure, and I'm finally coming out on the other side. It finally feels right to go home again."
"The Real Housewives of New York" will return for its seventh season on Bravo later this year.
