Playing at the Santiago Bernabeau Stadium for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Real Madrid will host VFL Wolfsburg.

The matchup is scheduled for April 12, 2016 at 2:45 PM ET.

Whoever wins this battle goes on to take a spot in the semi-finals of the most prestigious European Cup for football.

Both teams have shown their desire and capacity by coming this far, but with only one slot open and two teams fighting for it, fans can expect an epic clash in Spain.

However, many still believe that Madrid would be comfortably ahead of their German counterparts in this two-legged affair.

With history favoring the Spanish giants and the list of stars making the match daunting for Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga outfit has done what many did not expect by beating Madrid in the competition.

Albeit it only being in the first leg, Wolfsburg has a huge advantage over their rivals after an impressive showing at the VOLKSWAGEN ARENA.

Wolfsburg played aggressively and showed no signs of intimidation in front of their elite counterparts.

That paid off early in the game when Ricardo Rodriguez scored from the penalty spot in the 18th minute to give the German team the lead.

It took less than 10 minutes for them to double the advantage as Maximillian Arnold slotted the ball past Jesus Navas, thanks to an assist from Bruno Enrique to make it 2-0 for Wolfsburg.

Expectedly, the Madrid stars tried to fight back valiantly, dominating possession for most of the match as they tried to get a crucial away goal and trim down the deficit they were facing.

Putting off 14 total shots, Madrid only managed to get three on target and failed to beat the German defense as they eventually lost 2-0 and are now facing a big mountain to climb.

Luckily, they are playing at home where they have not lost in their last four games across all competitions.
