Recognizing God in You
The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. So Pharaoh asked them, "Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?" Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you." (Genesis 41:37-40 NIV)
Pharoah recognized the Spirit of God in Joseph. Because everything about Joseph said that he was a man of God. His actions, his calm spirit, his confidence, and his ability to hear what God said to him and to speak it forth to those around him.
How about you? Most likely, you don't often have the opportunity to interpret dreams for a king, but you do interact with dozens of people every day. Can they see the Holy Spirit in you? Do they recognize Him in your actions, your words, your attitude, your spirit? Do they see the fruits of the Spirit in you - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? Do they get to know Jesus by getting to know you?
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
