'Red Coat Girl' Traumatized by Schindler's List Film - 'Too Horrible' (VIDEO)

The 'red coat girl' from Schindler's List was traumatized by her experiences in Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed film.

Polish actress Oliwia Dabrowska played the iconic figure of the girl with the red coat in the movie - famously being the only color image in the black and white movie, which delves into the horrors of the holocaust.

Dabrowska's character is used in a shocking way to reveal the tragic events that unfolded at the time.

The little girl is shown just once at the beginning of the film, where she stands out to viewers due to her red coat amid the rest of the film's black and white coloring.

Dabrowska's character is not seen again in the film, but revealingly her red coat is seen once more - among the bodies of the Holocaust victims. The image is one of the most powerful in Spielberg's classic film, and has acted as a reminder of the horrors of what took place.

Debrowska, who is now 24 years old, has recently revealed to Britain's The Guardian newspaper that she was just 11 years old when she first saw the film, and was left "horrified" at what she saw.

She told the publication: "It was too horrible. I could not understand much, but I was sure that I didn't want to watch ever again in my life."

The actress admitted that Spielberg had advised her that she should "grow up into the film," and not watch it until she was much older. However, it ultimately was advice that she ignored; she now admits that she "really regretted" not listening at that time.

Debrowska explained that she did pluck up the courage to watch the movie again when she turned 18, and that her views changed, and she was then proud to have been involved in the film, and helping to portray the atrocities that took place.

According to various reports, she is now working towards a college degree in publishing.
