'Red Dead Redemption 2' PC Version Leaked? Evidence Dug Up from Denuvo

The unconfirmed PC version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" becomes the subject of a new leak following a technical glitch on the website of the Austrian-based Denuvo Software Solutions.

RDR2.com reports that the company's website recently experienced an issue that allowed users to gain access to information from its database. One of the details picked up from this is that Denuvo will work with Rockstar Games.

Denuvo is known for its anti-tamper technology and digital rights management services. More importantly, this is offered exclusively to the PC platforms.

This puts users under the impression that Rockstar is working on an upcoming PC release. The PC version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" comes to mind.

Rockstar is yet to officially announce the PC version of the western shooter sequel although the general expectation is that one will be released at a much later date.

This is after the developer teased that "the game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience" when they first confirmed "Red Dead Redemption 2."

The PC version is not expected to arrive along with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) versions, which are slated to be released this fall.

Rockstar is said to be using the same approach it used on "Grand Theft Auto 5." The original version came out in 2013, but the PC did not get it until 2015.

This means that the "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC version is still a long way off and that is not even counting the possible delay of the console iterations of it, which is possible with a developer like Rockstar.

"Grand Theft Auto V" ("GTA 5") was supposed to come out during the second quarter of 2013, but was pushed back to September of that year. With a big game like "Red Dead Redemption 2," a delay will not be surprising as Rockstar is one that makes sure its offerings see the light of day in their highest quality.

At the moment, however, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is set for release fall 2017.
