'Red Dead Redemption 2' Rumors: Rockstar Games Is Focusing on the Game but Rumored Features Are Turning Fans Off

Rockstar Games is known to take its time in releasing some of gaming's most renowned titles. With that argument in mind, the western-inspired "Red Dead Redemption 2" is shaping up to be potentially the developers' biggest hit, but rumors about its features are raising concern with the community.

According to RDR2.com, there is a possibility that the sequel might be heavy on side questing, particularly on farming and doing errands. They point out that this speculation sprang from the fact that its predecessor first had its stint with such themes, and it might not come as a surprise if it will be a big part of the upcoming installment.

"Towards the end of Red Dead Redemption there's a brief respite from all the gunslinging and violence," the blog mentions. "After reuniting with Marston's family at Beecher's Hope you're quickly put to work — taming wild horses, scaring off crows, herding cattle, and catching up with your son, Jack ... what if Rockstar made managing your homestead a full-fledged component in RDR?"

This was met with mixed reactions from the gaming community that has been scouring information about the title. Some are already threatening to cancel the preorder if this was the case, while a few others are saying they will still play the game no matter what. One netizen mentioned that it would be good if it was optional, but forcing it as a requirement is going to turn off a lot of people.

As far as development is concerned, blogger Yan2295 says that all hands are on "Red Dead Redemption 2," so much that fans can expect less updates from "GTA Online." If anything, this just means that the game is coming soon, and hopefully it is going to be something that fans will enjoy rather than abhor or be worried about.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to arrive in fall 2017.
