'Red Dwarf XII' Plot News: What Fans Can Expect in the Show's New Installment
Now that "Red Dwarf XII" has premiered, some fans want to have a glimpse of what they can expect to happen in the new installment of the British comedy science fiction series.
"Red Dwarf" was originally released in 1988 and aired until 1999 on BBC Two network. However, a persistent crowd of fans helped bring back the show in 2009, this time on Dave. While the show's settings and the characters' appearances scream of the science fiction genre, fans would agree that the show is, above all, a brilliant comedic piece.
In an earlier post, Dave prepared a list of plots that fans should expect to happen in "Red Dwarf XII." It could be a good guide, considering the show's unpredictability.
On top of the list, fans should expect that in any moment in "Red Dwarf XII," Dave Lister (Craig Charles) and his crew will be in one of the worst situations possible -- they will be captured by the Mechanoid Intergalactic Liberation Front and will live like Kryten (Robert Llewellyn) as a slave.
"Red Dwarf XII" will also be a mix of good and bad discoveries. At some point, the crew will find a ship where the rule prohibits its members from criticizing anyone. Then, on another occasion, they will encounter a utopian space station where a cure for evil has been found.
Unfortunately, Kryten and Arnold Judas Rimmer (Chris Barrie) will have to handle the absence of leadership in the Red Dwarf ship by holding a presidential election after a strike is instigated by the machines.
Lister is also in for a massive discovery as he unveils a software code within the latest update of Red Dwarf that could easily cause their demise.
Meanwhile, Rimmer will also struggle a lot with his personality. At some point, he will have had enough of being "such a massive loser" that it will convince him to leave the Red Dwarf crew behind in search for a parallel universe where life could be better for him.
"Red Dwarf XII's" second episode titled "Siliconia" will air on Thursday, Oct. 19, on Dave.
