'Reign' Season 3 Spoilers: Major Character to be Killed Off
Major spoilers have just emerged that The CW's "Reign" is set to kill off one of its major characters this season.
Based on real historical happenings, The CW's historical fantasy romance series, "Reign" is set to kill off one of its shows leads, just as Season 3 began airing last Friday.
King Francis II of France, played by Toby Regbo who has been a mainstay since Season 1, is about to kick the bucket and audiences can blame historical fact.

During Season 2's finale, Francis acknowledged Nostradamus' (Rossif Sutherland) prophecies as approaching the truth, and after the bleeding ear incident last Friday, he told Mary (Adelaide Kane) he was dying, naming Charles (Spencer MacPherson) as his successor.
While Francis's death shouldn't be a surprise to audiences who may have been expecting it to happen based on the progressive turn of events, they still aren't sure when in the Season it'll end up happening.
"Reign" has had its share of shocking deaths, but Francis' demise isn't going to be one of those to happen, and by giving audiences time to prepare for it, this old-fashioned method of announcement may just buck the trend in a TV viewing era where shock and surprise rule the roost.
In the meantime, more twists and turns are expected to make their way to the show while audiences wait for history to finally turn out the lights on Francis II permanently.
"Reign" Season 3 premiered on October 9, Friday, and opened with "Three Queens, Two Tigers," where Mary and Francis hire a privateer to steal money for them.
Meanwhile, Catherine (Megan Follows) and Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) scheme to expose Mary's affair with Louis (Sean Teale), only to have their messengers nipped the bud, thanks to the Vatican.
Affairs have abounded in the premiere episode, with Elizabeth and the commoner, Robert Dudley (Charlie Carrick), and Amy Dudley (Clara Pasieka)'s revenge fling with William (Tom Everett Scott).
"Reign" Season 3, Episode 2, "Betrothed," returns on The CW this Friday, October 16 at 8/7pm CT.
