'Reign' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Mary's Mother Leaves, A New Love Triangle Forms, More Elizabethan Court to See
With "Reign" Season 3 due to premiere on The CW by fall this year, spoilers have emerged pointing out to more drama and conflicts on the show.
American historical fantasy and romance series, "Reign" is due to premiere on The CW for its third season on October 9, and show spoilers have cropped up pointing to a new love triangle, with more views of the Elizabethan court in sight.
Catherine de Medici, played by Megan Follows, is expected to begin strengthening her personal alliance with Queen Elizabeth I (Rachel Skarsten), who was introduced on the show during the Season 2 finale.
An interesting dynamic will be seen developing between the two strong women when Season 3 opens its premiere telecast.
Viewers should expect the arrival of new characters, including trusted royal advisor William, played by Tom Everett Scott.
Another interesting scenario will occur between Robert Dudley and the Queen, as they form a love triangle with Dudley's wife to further swirl the plot. Dudley's wife will be an interesting rival to the queen, and audiences will see her as a huge thorn in the queen's side.
Marie de Guise, played by Amy Brenneman, will reprise her role as the mother of Mary, Queen of Scots. Last season she was seen admitting to an illness with a strong possibility of death. Despite Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) pleading with her mother to stay by her side, Marie de Guise insists on returning to Scotland.
With Queen Elizabeth I and Catherine de Medici plotting Mary's downfall, the Queen of Scots will need allies to help her deal with the issues plaguing the English court.
"Reign," which initially launched on The CW in October 2013, depicts the early life of Mary, Queen of Scots during the time she lived in France.
