Winter storms have come / And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through / Who on earth can I turn to?

My levees are broken / My walls are coming down on me
My rain is falling / Defeat is calling

I need you to set me free / Take me far away from the battle
I need you / Shine on me!

The same year Houston released "I Look to You," the pop legend sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a lengthy interview in which she discussed her addiction to drugs and how her mother was the one to finally intervene. In the interview, Houston tells Winfrey that her mother, Cissy Houston, appeared at her home one day holding a court order with two sheriffs in tow.

"I'm not losing you to the world. I'm not losing you to Satan," Houston quoted her mother as saying. "I want my daughter back. I want you back. I want to see that glow in your eyes."
