Remini Scientology Accusations Regarding Shelly Miscavige 'Unfounded,' Say LAPD (VIDEO)
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that the allegations brought by Leah Remini regarding Shelly Miscavige being a missing person are unfounded.
Remini reportedly opened a missing person's investigation into the whereabouts of Miscavige, but according to police, she has been found alive and well.
The Church of Scientology has been angered by what it has labeled an "inexcusable distraction" by the missing persons investigstion.
The actress left the Church of Scientology in a very public announcement last month, and is believed to have filed a missing persons report with the LAPD with regards to Shelly Miscavige, the wife of church leader David Miscavige, who reportedly had not been seen in public for six years.
However, police have since located and spoken to Miscavige, and have now reportedly said the case is closed and the reports filed by the actress are "unfounded."
Police have said that they had spoken face-to-face with Miscavige, and although the LAPD did not specifically state whether she had been held against her will or not, their closure of the case would seem to indicate they were unable to find anything illegal or suspicious going on in her relationship with the Church of Scientology.
