Republican Presidential Polls 2016 Update: Donald Trump Leads in New Hampshire But in Tight Spot with Ted Cruz in Iowa

The battle is heating up in the Republican side of the presidential race as recent polls reveal that Donald Trump leads his co-candidates in New Hampshire.

In CNN's Poll of Polls, the business mogul rose above his foes with 26 percent of the people's votes, while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio follows with 12 percent, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz tied with Ben Carson at 9 percent. Ex Florida governor Jeb Bush trailed fourth with 8 percent, while New Jersey governor Chris Christie followed closely behind with only 7 percent.

However, as expected, the winds of change are fast approaching on the billionaire as Iowa polls revealed that Cruz is leading Trump with 27 percent compared to the businessman's 25 percent. On the other hand, Iowa is just one state in the country. Overall polls still put Trump on top of the rest.

It should also be noted that two previous polls saw Cruz leading Trump with significant numbers, which could mean that Iowa believes in Cruz as the most efficient candidate among his co-Republicans.

As for Carson, who has been trailing Trump in earlier polls in 2015, saw painful drops in figures over the past few months. The retired neurosurgeon was the closest to Trump in some polls and his supporters rejoiced over news that he may have huge chances to thwart the results during election day. However, the most recent polls show that support for his campaign has decreased.

For the rest of the Republican candidates, the figures have remained pretty much the same and there is not much talk as to how their speeches and rallies have affected people's support.

Trump, on the other hand, has received a lot of criticism following his anti-Muslim remarks over the Paris terror attacks, with some people questioning his kind of government when he takes seat. Some experts also believe that his wordy attacks on Muslims in general could be one reason why Iowa people are slowly turning their backs from him.
