Republican Presidential Polls 2016 Update: Donald Trump Is Striding Ahead of Carson
As the big day for Republicans draws near, two new national polls reveal that once again Donald Trump is the on the top spot, taking down Ben Carson by a double-digit lead.
While it is apparent that Trump is leading the presidential race, some hope for Carson supporters was shed after a few previous polls showed that the retired neurosurgeon may have a fit chance to destroy the businessman's lead.
However, the new poll by The Washington Post and ABC News sees Trump's 32 percent totally slammed Carson's 22 percent, with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio not too far from the doctor at 11 percent, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 8 percent.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is two steps behind Cruz at 6 percent, while Carly Fiorina, the candidate who is considered by critics as cold and plain, stays in the game at 4 percent.
Meanwhile, a Fox News poll also states that Trump is on the lead with 28 percent compared to Carson's 18 percent. In the same poll, the two senators, Rubio and Cruz, are tied at 14 percent. Bush, on the other hand, is still far behind, with only 5 percent of the people's votes.
What makes the new polls very interesting is that they reveal the person that the respondents believe will bring a change to the White House. 52 percent was given to Trump, meaning he is the person that the respondents chose as the change-maker.
While 28 percent said they would rather go for honesty and integrity in a candidate, experience wasn't much of a big deal as only 11 percent said political experience was of importance.
1,004 voters were surveyed by The Washington Post-ABC News poll, while 1,016 were surveyed by Fox News. All respondents were adults, which only gives the results more meaning since it is concluded that the adults are more knowledgeable about current issues, as well as challenges that the government will leave in the hands of the new president to be elected.
