'Resident Evil 0' Remaster and 'Resident Evil' HD To Be Released as 'Resident Evil Origins Collection'

Capcom is going to release a new collection, aptly titled "Resident Evil Origins Collection," in January 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. According to a report in Tech Times, the collection will consist of remastered versions of "Resident Evil," the first game of the franchise, and "Resident Evil 0," a prequel to the first game.

"Resident Evil" HD has been previously released by Capcom in early 2015, with much success. Given this, Capcom announced later in the year that they were coming up with an HD remaster of the prequel game "Resident Evil 0" but did not indicate when it would be ready for release.

This piece of news confirms that the upcoming remastered version of the game will be ready for the marker on January 19, 2016 and will be part of a physical disc that will be shipped as "Resident Evil Origins Collection."

Both games, in their original format, were the first set of games that still stuck with the survival horror genre. Both games were also considered as among the best games of the series. "Resident Evil" was first released in 1996, while "Resident Evil 0" came out in 2002.

"Resident Evil" still follows the adventures of two special forces agents who are trapped inside a mansion that is filled with zombies. Survival is their main mission. "Resident Evil 0," on the other hand, is set before the events of "Resident Evil," which involves one special forces agent and a convict ex-soldier.

According to another report in Techno Buffalo, "Resident Evil 0" will also feature a new mode called Wesker mode. This is named after one of the antagonists in the prequel game, Albert Wesker. In this new mode, Wesker will play alongside the other protagonist, Rebecca Chambers.

The collection, which will be on a physical disc, will sell for $39.99 and will be available in stores in January 2016.
