'Resident Evil 6' news, cast, spoilers: Alice Reunites with Old Friends to Beat the Undead One Last Time
"Resident Evil" has been quite a successful franchise. Being that it is now about to film the sixth installment, many are saddened that this will be the last film. Production will start soon, and the film is set to hit theaters more likely in early 2017.
Fans of the movie can expect to see a roundup of characters from the previous five films in the upcoming "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter." Milla Jovovich will be reprising her role as Alice as she teams up with Ali Larter, who will also reprise her character Claire Redfield. Wentworth Miller will also come back as Chris, Claire's brother, and it is expected that Ian Glen will appear once more as Dr. Isaacs. Other stars said to be joining the film would be Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Frqaser James, and Japanese model and celebrity personality Rola.
In the recent report by Screen Rant, it included photos from Jovovich's Instagram account showing the ongoing filming. South Africa seems to be the main location. As for what could be expected for the final foray, it is said that the story will be returning to the roots of the series. The new film will expectedly pick up from where "Resident Evil: Retribution" ended, and will follow Alice's attempt to end the Red Queen's plan of exterminating every single human left.

An official synopsis has been released, "Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began, Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time, Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is expected to be released on Jan. 27, 2017, in the United States.
