'Resident Evil 7' DLC Release Date News: 'Banned Footage Volume 2' Hits PS4

The second "Resident Evil 7" downloadable content (DLC), "Banned Footage Volume 2," is finally available for PlayStation 4 (PS4) players to explore.

It comes with a couple of new VHS tapes and what is being described by Capcom as a "comical extra game mode." The first of the tapes is called 21.

Here, "Resident Evil 7" players will find themselves once again in another one of Lucas Baker's deadly games in which they will have to "gamble life and limb."

The second tape from the "Banned Footage Volume 2" DLC is dubbed Daughters. It will show what the Baker family was like when things were not as sinister as they are now.

The extra mode fans will get in the "Resident Evil 7: Banned Footage Volume 2" DLC is called Jack's 55th Birthday, which follows a story separate from the abovementioned tapes and the story of the main game.

In this extra content, players will need to "race against the clock and feed Jack tons of food." It sounds like something that is lighter in tone compared with the tapes in the "Banned Footage Volume 2" and the game in general.

VG247 says that it might feature gameplay that is different from what players are used to in "Resident Evil 7" since the extra mode is not supported on the PlayStation VR.

The first "Resident Evil 7" DLC, "Banned Footage Volume 1," has received favorable reviews with gaming publications like Destructoid and Eurogamer happy about the content. It will be exciting to see if the follow-up will raise the bar.

"Banned Footage Volume 2" is priced at $15. The DLC will be released on the Xbox One and the PC on Feb. 21 along with the "Banned Footage Volume 1."

Both are part of the $30 season pass along with a third story expansion that Capcom is yet to reveal. This spring, gamers will receive free content called "Not a Hero."
