Resurrection New ABC Series Live Stream Free: Watch Episode 1 Premiere Online (ABC TV Start Time, Preview Trailer Video)

New series "Resurrection" will air on ABC on Sunday, with the season premiere starting at 9 p.m. ET. The new show can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

In the premiere episode a synopsis has described: "An 8-year-old boy who was presumed dead more than 30 years ago is reunited with his now 60-year-old parents in the opener of this series, which follows the residents of the small town of Arcadia, Mo., whose lives are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to reappear."

The new series has been described as "fascinating" by some critics in reviews prior to the season premiere. The new ABC show will tell the stories of the dead mysteriously, and seemingly randomly, returning to life – sparking huge emotional turmoil for loved ones who have already grieved their deaths and let them go.

Some might feel that description sounds familiar, and they could be right. There was another TV Series just last year called The Returned, which was praised by critics in 2013, and was part of the Sundance Channel's line up.

However, Resurrection is not an adaptation of that French series, although the general storyline is very similar.

Resurrection is in fact from Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, and is based on a book called – wait for it – "The Returned," which is about a young boy called Jacob who returns home 30 years after he died. Despite the clear comparisons with The Returned French TV series, fans should not expect much more than that – and this is very clearly an American adaptation of the book, and there are no parallel characters with the French TV series.
