Revival Ministry Produces 12-Week Interactive Study
After 33 years of revival ministry in local churches, a Michigan-based ministry has produced a resource that will multiply the message they have been proclaiming in thousands of congregations and tens of thousands of hearts and homes.
Seeking Him, a 12-week interactive study for individuals or small groups on personal revival, is a collective effort by Life Action Ministries, freelance writer Tim Grissom and Nancy Leigh DeMosshost of Revive Our Hearts, a daily radio program for women heard on over 500 outlets nation wide.
Seeking Him is not just an information tool, but a practical, urgent appeal for every Christian to personally and corporately experience revival, Life Action said in announcing the resource. We think Seeking Him will become more than a curriculum title, or a brand name for a variety of published resources. We believe it will characterize a major movement of God in our communities and in our nation.
According to the ministry, the 12-week study is intended for individuals who want to grow closer to the Lord and experience personal revival as well as small group leaders and participants. Each lesson includes:
- Going Deeper in the Word. Optional Bible readings for those who wish to meditate on related Scripture passages.
- Faith-Builder Story. An inspirational, true story of personal revival. These testimonies represent a cross-section of men, women, lay people, and vocational Christian workers.
- Truth Encounter. Studies of related Bible passages. Gods Word is our guide and the Holy Spirit is our teacher.
- Making It Personal. A personal inventory exercise or series of questions for personal reflection and response. These segments will challenge you to evaluate your own behavior and attitudes encouraging you to make application.
- Seeking Him Together. Questions to guide group discussion and prayer time.
- Memory Verses, Key Points, Tips, Insights, and Quotes. Sidebar material that provides helpful background information, inspiring quotes, and memorization.
This workbook is not intended to add more shoulds to your life, Life Action commented. Rather, its purpose is to reveal more of God and His ways to you and your people and to lead you on a pilgrimage toward greater freedom, forgiveness, fullness, and spiritual fruitfulness.
The 12-week study, which purposely prioritizes local churches and small groups, has been developed with numerous companion resources to assist pastors/leaders, including a DVD, workbook, pastors resource kit, a 12-week radio program on Revive Our Hearts radio, and a music CD.
The national radio program, which will go through the Seeking Him workbook chapter-by-chapter from Jan. 29 to Apr. 16, can be heard over 270 radio stations nationwide, over the phone, and live via the web. The program is led every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. (EST) by Christian leaders and other believers who have a heart for revival. Guest speakers include figures such as Dale Schlafer, Vice President of Promise Keepers; Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, featured speaker on "The Moody Church Hour"; Al Whittinghill, a Minister-at-large with Ambassadors for Christ International; and Vonette Bright, wife of Campus Crusade for Christ founder Bill Bright.
