Revolve Tour Introducing Faith, Life, and Boys to Teen Girls
Revolve Tour invites teen girls to celebrate Christ and learn about faith. Women of Faith, the nation's largest Christian women's tour, has spun off this new tour for girls. Across the board, the demand for youth initiatives has increased. Promise Keepers, the largest men's Christian tour, has said they are also concentrating on reaching the younger men like never before. Meanwhile, the number of campus ministries and their internal operations are expanding within the past thirty years or more.
Revolve Tour's marketing campaign is flashy and fun with bright turquoise and pinks and flower and stars dotting their cover. Hosting slogans like, "New," "Exciting," "Music, Drama, Speakers, Fun" with each word interspersed among bright flower shapes, they target the 7th-12th graders (though mothers are "welcome to come with their daughters").
"The When and the Where" features five prime spots starting September of this year, with the labels: 1) September 23-24, 2005 in Orlando, FL; 2) October 7-8, 2005 in Charlotte, NC; 3) October 14-15, 2005 in Portland, OR; 4) November 4-5, 2005 in Minneapolis, MN; and 5) November 11-12 , 2005 in Hartford, CT.
Their "lineup" spotlights two familiar faces from The Women of Faith tour, Natalie Grant and Tammy Trent and six new names.
Tammy Trent is a recording artist and author with "a heart-rending story of tragedy and hope," and Natalie Grant is a "passionate singer/songwriter with a big voice and a big message."
ZOEgirl is a "best-selling Christian pop band [that] explores teen issues through music." Lakita Garth will also appear at CreationFest this year, an annual Christian pop music festival/camping weekend for mostly college students. Lakita is a "brainy beauty queen with tons of tips on dating and more."
Kimiko Soldati is the "US Diving National Champion, 2004 Olympian" according to Revolve.
Katie Meier is a "fresh, funny and blunt best-selling author." Laura Wilkinson is the 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, and 1998 Goodwill Games Champion.
So far they have a group of diverse young women, including two Olympian-winning athletes, two authors, two artists and a pop band. The last person to round off the group is the resident male. Chad Eastham will tell girls "what boys think" straight from the source (Revolve website). Chad is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks turned right; his history of drugs and police trouble turned into leadership for Campus Crusade for Christ and a Harvard University Ph.D. candidate, and is known for being a "dynamic, national youth speaker" (Revolve).
So what will the "hot topics" be for such a diverse group of youth leaders? The tour is interested in talking to girls about "boys, the search for faith, friendships and living through it all."
"Friendships," states Revolve on their website. "Friends are sooo important! If only they came with guarantees. Hear how to make the most of your friendships, and how to handle it if one goes bad."
Other than friends, what else would the teen mind be interested in? "Guys" are next on the list. "What do guys really think? Why do they say what they say? We hear 'em, but what do they mean? We've got the honest truth from an actual guy about the view from 'the other side."
Thirdly, the conference will address issues of where "Real Faith Meets Real Life." The speakers will "share" "real-life experience" - the "stuff you can pack in your spiritual survival kit."
Lastly, the speakers are going to deliver messages on how to become "confident." The Tour seeks to "help [teenage girls] find and appreciate how "real," and "wonderful" teens are.
