'RHONJ' Housewife Teresa Giudice Getting Out From Prison Before The Holidays

Teresa Giudice, one of the cast members of the reality TV series "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," is set to be freed from prison, where she has been serving a sentence for bankruptcy fraud since January. Giudice will be allowed to spend Christmas with her husband, Joe, and their four daughters, at their home in Montville, NJ. She will stay there on home confinement until Feb. 5.

According to Giudice's lawyer, James Leonard Jr., the reality TV personality will be released from the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut on Wednesday. Leonard also said that his client is in good spirits and is looking forward to spending the holidays with her family. He also revealed that he plans on escorting Giudice home to Montville from prison, but declined to give further details about the "RHONJ" cast member's release.

Giudice and her husband, Joe, were both convicted of mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud in October 2014. The couple pleaded guilty to failing to disclose their assets to bankruptcy creditors and falsifying loan applications so that they could receive about $5 million in construction and mortgage loans. Giudice was given a 15-month prison sentence for her crimes.

"She's looking forward to coming home," Leonard told ABC News. The lawyer added: "She's going to go straight home. She's not going to a halfway house. She's going to get to spend Christmas with her family and get back to her life."

He also said that her early release was a result of her good behavior in prison and not "preferential treatment."

Joe Giudice is set to begin his own 41-month sentence in March and will spend his prison term at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix in New Jersey. A federal court judge agreed to stagger the Giudices' prison terms for the sake of their children. However, Joe Giudice is an Italian citizen. As a result, he may be deported back to his home country when he is released.
