Rick Perry to Drop Presidential Bid if God Tells Him
Rick Perry is leaving the results of the upcoming Iowa caucuses up to God.
Perry, who has been campaigning in Iowa, recently told reporters that if God willed him to end his presidential bid after the results of the Iowa caucuses, he would.
“That’s God’s will,” Perry said. “There might be an outcome that he decides that I wouldn’t go on.”

When questioned about God participating in the caucuses, Perry said, “Pretty sure he will be.”
The Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate recently toured two cities in Iowa, visiting churches along the way and speaking to potential Christian voters about his faith.
“It’s a God-shaped hole in your heart and it can only be filled by Jesus Christ,” Perry told one congregation, while quoting Isaiah 6:8 – “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!”
Throughout his campaign, Perry has been standing by his faith publicly and calling for others to do the same.
“I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school,” Perry said in an advertisement. “As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion, and I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.”
During his stop at the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, in Iowa, Perry spoke about the importance of incorporating faith into politics.
“Faith is part of what this country is founded upon, and I think we’ve drifted away from that too far,” Perry said. “Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.”
