Rick Perry Voodoo Dolls to Benefit Planned Parenthood

A Houston seamstress is selling Rick Perry voodoo dolls and donating the profits to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider.

The dolls come in two versions. One has a white t-shirt with the words "I [coat hanger] Texas Women" for $25, or a suit and tie version for $30. At $50, both versions are available at a discount. The dolls come with "tampon pins."

Referring to Perry as "Gov. Goodhair," Michelle Sinched told The Houston Press that she came up with the idea because she wanted to "send a message and raise money for Planned Parenthood."

"What's better than sticking pins in Gov. Goodhair or burning him at your own doll sized stake?" she said.

Sinched, who calls herself "The Stitch Witch" on her Facebook page, added that she considers herself pro-choice and pro-life and that she appreciated Planned Parenthood helping her.

"No one ever wants to face the abortion choice but it happens," she said. "I believe no one has the right to make that choice but the woman it affects. I was once a client of PP and I have felt a great deal of gratitude for them being available when I had no insurance and could not afford birth control or annual well woman check ups."

The Texas legislature recently passed a ban on most abortions after a fetus is 20 weeks old, the age at which some experts believe a fetus is able to feel pain. Perry has been a strong supporter of the legislation and will sign the bill into law.

A recent HuffPost/YouGov poll showed a majority of Americans, 59 percent, support the 20-week abortion ban.
