Rick Ross Assassination Attempt? Rapper Crashes Car While Fleeing Gunfire
Rick Ross was reportedly involved in a car accident while trying fleeing from gunfire, and critics believe that the rapper may have been the victim of an assassination attempt.
Ross, whose real name William Leonard Roberts II, was reportedly accompanied by a female passenger while driving his Rolls-Royce in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla Sunday when a gunman suddenly opened fire.
"Dozens" of shots were fired at the luxury vehicle, although they missed, instead hitting surrounding buildings, according to TMZ.

The 36-year-old immediately tried to flee the scene by speeding away from the gunfire, but the rapper crashed into a nearby building, and eventually police were called. No one was injured during the incident and police are currently investigating, although so far there are allegedly no suspects, according to reports.
The Maybach Music Group founder was reportedly celebrating his 36th birthday inside of a nearby restaurant shortly before the shooting occurred.
In recent months, Ross has received a series of death threats from a Chicago-based gang which is attempting to extort the rapper over allegedly unpaid dues.
A street gang known as the Gangster Disciples recently took to social networking site YouTube to explain its grievances with Ross, who they claim is at fault for name-dropping the gang's chairman Larry Hoover on the chorus of his 2010 single "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)."
Ross is also accused of copying the group's Star of David logo for the cover of his latest mixtape, "The Black Bar Mitzvah."
The dangerous gang has urged the rapper to settle the matter, but Ross has openly refused to grant their requests.
"So if you screaming, 'Cut a check, we need a check.' Ain't no checks gettin' cut. Ain't never no checks gettin' cut. I don't play those games," Ross told Miami-based radio station 99 Jamz. "I consider that extortion, we don't play like that."
Threats aimed at Ross have since increased with gangs in other states like North Carolina and Alabama calling on the rapper to pay his alleged dues.
