Rihanna, Chris Brown Win Jay-Z's Approval Amid Reconciliation
Rihanna has reportedly received a seal of approval from her mentor Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter over her controversial relationship with Chris Brown, it has been claimed.
The Bajan singer is said to be back together with Brown, 23, and although Jay-Z, 42, initially objected to the rekindled romance, he has now had a sudden change of heart, according to new reports.
"Jay-Z sees Rihanna like a daughter and has sent his right-hand man Jay to Barbados to see what's going on with her and Chris. She admitted they're pretty much back on and Jay told her they're all behind her and want her to be happy," a source told The Sun UK.
"Chris is even flying out to the island to see her soon. She knows that a load of her fans aren't going to be happy about them hanging out though – people still haven't forgiven him," the insider added.
The explosive claims come six months after it was reported that Rihanna, 25, was on the verge of leaving Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation over looming pressure to cut ties with Brown.
Brown and Rihanna abruptly ended their 2-year romance in 2009 following a now infamous domestic violence dispute which left the "Where Have You Been" singer badly injured.
"Jay was absolutely disgusted by what Chris did to Rihanna. Jay doesn't understand how a man could ever lay hands on a woman; it just goes against who he is and about. Chris is absolutely dead to Jay, he wants nothing to do with him ever," a source previously told RadarOnline.com.
The Grammy award-winning artists have reportedly been "seeing a lot of each other in private" in recent months despite Brown's current involvement with 24-year-old model Karrueche Tran.
The pair secretly vacationed together in the Mediterranean at the end of July, it was claimed, but they are said to be apprehensive about publicizing their rekindled romance due to fear of backlash, according to The New York Post.
"Everyone in the business assumes [Rihanna] and Chris are getting back together, and it is only a matter of time before they'll be more public about it," a source told the Post.
"It's like she is testing the water -- first they work on music together, then they hang out in a friendly way, so the public won't be completely shocked when they step out together publicly," the insider added.
