Rihanna Crying During Oprah Interview, Singer 'Terrified' of Fame (VIDEO)
Rihanna recently spoke candidly in an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey. In a new video clip, the singer, who is often faced with intense scrutiny, is seen breaking down as she opens up about her life.
The 24-year-old global singing sensation is often both criticized and praised for her "good girl gone bad" image. In the upcoming and rare interview for "Oprah's Next Chapter," Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, is described as being "vulnerable" and "emotional" by Winfrey herself.
"I went there with my own ideas about who she was from watching her videos and listening to her music. I thought she was gonna be kind of a bada--, a kind of hard edged, rocker, pop woman.

Nothing could have been farther from the truth," Winfrey said in the snippet released on her website.
"She pushes the edge a lot, and there's a reason for that ... she was thoughtful ... She was very emotional ... She was vulnerable," she added.
The renowned talk show host traveled to Rihanna's native of Barbados for the exclusive interview, where at one point she is seen seated in the passenger side of a car as the Bajan singer drives Winfrey to visit her childhood home in the island capital of Bridgetown.
"I am super duper terrified of the pedestal that comes with fame. It's amazing how lonely you can feel," a humble Rihanna told Winfrey.
At one point Rihanna turns away from Winfrey saying, "I hate this part," she then proceeds to cry while grasping a tissue.
The pair are is seen interacting with Rihanna's neighbors in another clip and Winfrey appears to be not only stunned by the singer's frequent cursing, but also by how the neighbors react to the her arrival.
"This is how you know who someone is, how people react to them ... and when we went to the neighborhood this reaction surprised me because it wasn't like a big superstar ... megastar ... popstar had arrived in the neighborhood. It was just 'Robyn,' as if she'd gone to the grocery store and came back. It was great, it was great to see," Winfrey said.
Winfrey is expected to question Rihanna about her recent controversies, including her alleged drug use and her infamous relationship with singer Chris Brown.
Rihanna and Brown, 23, split in 2009 following a domestic violence incident which left her badly beaten and which also saw Brown convicted of assault.
The media mogul publicly expressed her disappointment at the time when reports that the pair had reconciled began swirling. This immediately prompted a public response from the "Where Have You Been" singer.
"I hear Oprah and what she is saying, But ... at the same time she does not know what's best for me i do respect her though," Rihanna tweeted.
