Drake, who is in the midst of his own tour, was photographed watching Rihanna, 25, perform in Dallas on Nov. 9. Shortly after the show the longtime friends went on a dinner date at a local restaurant and a report claims the setting was romantic.
"My girls gets hers and let's just say it's easier for a [girl] to go to familiar territory than it is for her to get out there and [be with someone] new," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
"You've got to remember, Rihanna has done a lot of growing and Drake's a real [guy] so there's not really any expectations that come with what they did," the source explained. "They're both adults and can compartmentalize things."
Rihanna and Brown, who is Drake's formal rival, split in May after having rekindled their tumultuous relationship in January. While fans continue to speculate what Brown, 24, thinks about the rumors surrounding Rihanna and Drake, an insider claims the Bajan singer simply does not care.
Rihanna and Brown dated on-and-off for five years. In 2012 Drake and Brown were involved in a physical brawl at a New York City nightclub, allegedly over Rihanna.
"Did Chris care about her [feelings] when he was out there doing him? Ha, but guess what? She does care about him but she's not with him," another source said.
"She's not checking for him and whatever she wants to do or hook up with is her business. She doesn't have a man to answer to!" the source reiterated.
Drake, who has collaborated with Rihanna on a number of hit songs, previously opened up about their friendship. The "Hold On, We're Going Home" singer confirmed that at one point they were romantically involved.
"We had our moment," Drake previously told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "[We] Always support and have love for her, [but] I'm not into do-overs."
