Rihanna Embarrassed by Mother's Ashton Kutcher Joke?
Rihanna, 24-year-old Barbadian singer, recently admitted that her mother embarrassed her after telling a joke about actor Ashton Kutcher at an esteemed event honoring the 100 most influential people in the world.
The singer's mother decided to mention the topic publicly in the form of a joke at a Time magazine gala that celebrated 100 of the most influential figures in society. Monica Braithwaite, Rihanna's mother, seemed to embarrass the singer who tweeted about the ordeal.
"Well....(tonight) consisted of us singing Bob Marley, drinking Vintage Scotch, and my mom thinking a joke about Kutcher was appropriate," the singer tweeted Tuesday night. "#Thxtime100."
Rihanna was rumored to be dating Kutcher, star of the show "Two and a Half Men," after she was spotted leaving his home late at night last month. However, the singer was less than happy when questioned about a romance with Kutcher in an interview while promoting her upcoming movie "Battleship."
When asked about Kutcher visiting the set of the movie, Rihanna's response was less than pleasant.
"Wow, how disappointing was that question," Rihanna said in the promotional interview for the movie. "I'm happy and I'm single, if that's what you're really asking."
However, this was not the only interviewer that felt backlash from inquiring about Rihanna's love life. On a promotional interview for "Battleship" in Australia, the singer ended her interview when her love life was discussed.
"How frustrating is it when you're linked with another big star, even if you've barely met them," one interviewer questioned.
Rihanna answered the reporter before ending the interview.
"Very frustrating, almost as frustrating as being asked about it," Rihanna answered. "What's the point?"
Still, the singer did not seem to be angry with her mother, who she posed with in multiple photos on her Instagram photograph sharing account. Although Rihanna never disclosed exactly what her mother said in reference to Kutcher, she seemed excited about her mother surprising her by attending the event.
"Mumz surprised me for TIME 100," she tweeted.
The singer performed at the event, which was held at the Lincoln Center in New York City Tuesday night.
