Rihanna's Former Pastor Says She Needs Church, Not Chris Brown
Rihanna's recent lifestyle choices, including a reunion with ex-boyfriend and singer Chris Brown who physically harmed her three years ago, have caused her former pastor and family friend, Bishop Vibert Lowe, to express disappointment as well as pray for her.
"A lot of people have been praying for her and hoping that she will drop these bad habits," Lowe, 64, told The Sun. "We feel it's wrong for her to behave like this."
The pastor, who used to minister to Rihanna and her family each week before she moved to the United States, discussed the influence that the singer has on young women around the world. However, he said she is not setting the proper example for those fans.

"As a young lady she's not setting a good example," the pastor said. "Young people look to her as a mentor, they regard her as an idol and copy her lifestyle."
Although many have accepted that Rihanna has forgiven Brown, which is evident by her recent musical collaborations with the 22-year-old crooner, Lowe said she should consider staying away from her ex-boyfriend.
"After all he did, I'd tell her to steer clear of him," Lowe told The Sun. "He's not the correct influence on her life."
However, even before Rihanna's collaborations with Brown were released to the world amid controversy, it seemed the singer was admittedly troubled.
"F--- YOU SATAN," Rihanna tweeted last month. "F--- right off!!!"
The spiritually-themed tweets caused some to question the singer's motivation.
"So what was going on with Rihanna and Satan last night," one fan questioned.
Lowe, who said he has not seen much of the singer since she left her native country to pursue superstardom, suggested that Rihanna should return to church.
"I don't see her much when she comes back -- she seems too busy -- but she should spend more time in church," Lowe said.
