'Rise of the Tomb Raider' DLC: Baba Yaga Confirmed to Come to PC Version
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" recently received its release date for the PC. Now, PC players of the action-adventure title will also get to enjoy the upcoming Baba Yaga DLC.
Square Enix confirmed with Eurogamer that Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch will launch with the PC version. "Rise of the Tomb Raider's" PC version is set to launch on Thursday, Jan. 28, just a couple of days after the DLC releases to Microsoft's consoles. The PC version supports 4K resolution and requires a minimum Windows 7 64bit OS, Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent processor, Nvidia GTX 650 2 GB or AMD HD7770 2 GB GPU, 6 GB RAM, 25 GB hard drive space, DirectX 11, a mouse, and a keyboard.
The Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch is the first story-focused add-on content for the game that is scheduled to release on Tuesday, Jan. 26. It will see the game's protagonist Lara Croft entering a strange new tomb where she will encounter new enemies and fight her way through puzzles and hallucinations.
Baba Yaga comes from Slavic mythology that describes it as a supernatural being that appears as an old woman. The creature is said to live in a hut that stands on a pair of giant chicken legs.
The Baba Yaga DLC is included in the game's season pass that costs $29.99. The first season pass content was made available last month. This was the Endurance Mode that required players to keep Lara alive by feeding her and keeping her warm. In other words, the first season pass content tested how far the character can go against the harshest environment in the game.
After Baba Yaga, a third DLC, Cold Darkness Awakened, is expected to arrive later this year. This upcoming content is expected to bring with it wave-based survival challenges.
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is a timed Xbox exclusive that launched in November 2015. Once the exclusivity deal is over, the title is expected to be available on Sony's PlayStation 4 later this year. The title comes from developers Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes Software.
