'Risen' movie spoilers: A different perspective
There is a new biblical movie coming out next year. "Risen" is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The film revolves around a roman centurion named Clavius, who is tasked by Pontius Pilate to investigate the rumors of a risen Jewish messiah and to locate the missing body of Jesus in order to quell an uprising that is imminent in Jerusalem.
The movie stars Joseph Finnes as Clavius, the roman centurion, and Tom Felton as Lucius, his aide. Meanwhile, Peter Firth stars as Pontius Pilate and Cliff Curtis stars as Jesus Christ. The movie will be directed by Kevin Reynolds, who is behind "Waterworld" and "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves."
The film offers a unique and different perspective on the biblical story. Usually, stories about Jesus Christ are told from the viewpoint of a disciple or a believer. But this time around, the story is told from the perspective of a roman soldier who does not believe in Christ.

Producer Rich Peluso spoke about the upcoming film and defended the accusations that it is just another Jesus film. He said that they are looking to tell the other side of the story that no one ever hears about. He also said that because they are telling this story through the eyes of a non-believer, they received rave reviews from non-Christians who are intrigued by the story of what happened.
Actor Joseph Finnes spoke about the forthcoming movie and what he found interesting about the role. "Risen is an incredible noir detective tale. That's the angle that appealed to me," he said. He also added that his character will interrogate the disciples of Jesus after the tomb is found open. "That's where the detective work comes in. This is an extraordinary story and well-known to everyone. But it takes us on this journey through the eyes of a nonbeliever," he added.
Risen will hit theaters on Jan. 22, 2016.
