Rita Hayworth Grandson Found Dead With Bag Over His Head (VIDEO)
The grandson of silver-screen icon Rita Hayworth has been found dead with a bag over his head, in what early reports are calling a suicide.
Andrew Ali Aga Khan Embiricos, 25, was discovered at 9 p.m. in his Chelsea apartment, the Daily News has reported.
After receiving an emergency phone call from one of his pals, police attended his apartment. The Medical Examiner has said that Embiricos died between 8:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. Sunday, and confirmed that it was an “apparent suicide.”
Embiricos was the son of Rita Hayworth’s daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, who was a philanthropist famous for her work against Alzheimer’s disease.
MaryKate Wilson, spokswoman for the Alzheimer’s Association has said according to NY Daily News: “Princess Yasmin Aga Khan is a longtime member of the Alzheimer’s Association family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.”
Embiricos has an uncle, Prince Karim Aga Khan, who is the spiritual leader of 15 million Shia Ismaili Muslims. The head of communications for
Embiricos grandfather, Prince Aly Aga Khan, famously wed Hayworth in 1949. Hayworth was married five times in her lifetime and died in New York aged 68 in 1987 of Alzheimer’s.
