RNC night 2: Jon Ponder pardon, Abby Johnson abortion conversion, Melania calls for unity
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered videoed remarks recorded during his recent trip in Jerusalem, drawing pushback from liberals who question whether the secretary of state’s participation in the political was legal.
The 56-year-old former congressman explained that his wife and son are “more safe and their freedoms more secure because President Trump has put his America-first vision into action.”
“This president has led bold initiatives in nearly every corner of the world,” Pompeo proclaimed. “In China, he has pulled back the curtain on the predatory aggression of the Chinese Communist Party. The president has held China accountable for covering up the China virus and allowing it to spread death and economic destruction in America and around the world.”
“He will not rest until justice is done,” Pompeo promised. “He has ensured that the Chinese Communist Party spies posing as diplomats in America are jailed or sent back to China. And he has ended the ridiculously unfair trade arrangement with China that punched a hole in our economy.”
Pompeo also praised Trump’s actions regarding North Korea, Russia and Iran before referencing his success in curbing radical Islamic terrorism.
“Today, because of the President’s determination and leadership, the ISIS caliphate is wiped out,” he said.
Pompeo also praised Trump for moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, which he called “a city of God” and the “rightful capital of the Jewish homeland.”
“Just two weeks ago, the President brokered a historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. This is a deal that our grandchildren will read about in their history books,” the secretary declared.
“The way each of us can best ensure our freedoms is to by electing leaders who don’t just talk but who deliver.”
