Robert Griffin III Getting Praise on Twitter, Impressing Teams

Robert Griffin III blew away scouts and impressed sports analysts at the NFL combine when he posted the fastest 40-yard dash time while doing well in other tests.

Griffin, who many feel will be the second overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, was unofficially clocked with a two-run average of 4.38 seconds.

His official time later was adjusted to 4.41 seconds; it was still the best time of any quarterback this year, according to AP.

Sports analyst Stuart Scott Tweeted his support of Griffin after the combine: "Luv Andrew Luck...Luv everything about RG3!! Beginning to think 'Luck' IS NOT a 'given' at #1. There's NOTHING RG3 has done 2 disappoint"

Andrew Luck, the projected top overall pick ran an unofficial time of 4.59 seconds, which was later adjusted to an official time of 4.69 seconds, fourth best among quarterbacks.

"When you talk about the Michael Vicks or the Cam Newtons or the athletic quarterbacks, this is the best throwing athlete I've seen come out in a while," former coach Brian Billick said.

"I think I was able to go out there and affirm to the scouts how athletic I am, or impress them even more," Griffin said Monday.

"I was able to show people that I am as advertised. I'm a good guy, I like to make people laugh. I can't remember a meeting I didn't go in and we weren't laughing."

Among the teams Griffin interviewed with were Miami, Washington, Minnesota and Kansas City. He stated that every meeting ran smoothly.

"I had them laughing in there as well," he said. "I was excited to go in there. You would think that meeting would be a little bit more stressful because of the weight that's held behind it, but it wasn't stressful at all. You just go in there and be yourself."

"If they like you, they like you," he said. "If they don't and decide to go a different way, that's just the nature of the game."

ESPN's Skip Bayless was also impressed and shared it on Twitter: "I feel better than ever about statement of 2 months ago: Give me RG3 over AndrewLuck. Talked w/ RG3 today. Smart, eloquent, confident as Cam"

Griffin, who attended Baylor, is the school's career passing leader, with 10,366 yards. He threw 78 touchdowns and had only 17 interceptions. His 2,254 yards and 33 TDs rushing are records for a Baylor quarterback.
