Robert Pattinson 'Depressed' Following Kristen Stewart Split?

Robert Pattinson is reportedly struggling emotionally following his split from Kristen Stewart and a new report claims the British actor may be "depressed."

In May, the "Twilight" star, 27, was spotted moving belongings out of Stewart's Los Feliz home after it was claimed that the couple, who dated on-and-off for four years, had split. A source claims that Pattinson is subsequently in a fragile state.

"[He's] still on the rebound from Kristen and is very depressed," a source reportedly told Star magazine.

In 2012 Pattinson spoke openly about his two-year battle with depression which stemmed from the actor being thrust into the spotlight in 2008.

"I went through a big time of depression between 23 and 25, I couldn't go where I wanted to go," Pattinson previously told the French magazine, Premiere.

"I was in the tabloids every day and I didn't have access to the roles I really wanted. I wanted more, on every level," he explained.

In recent weeks Pattinson has reportedly been spotted spending more time with pop singer Katy Perry, 28. She is said to be helping the actor by lending him support following his split from Stewart, 23.

"Katy has been really supportive of Rob since he and Kristen split up. She has been his main support during this whole breakup," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

"Kristen has tons of friends that she can lean on, whereas most of Rob's closest friends are in England. Rob isn't going to hang out with Kristen's friends anymore, so it's like he doesn't have Kristen in his life anymore, and that includes all of her friends," the source explained.

The "Hot N Cold" singer and Pattinson reportedly attended a Bjork concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Saturday. They were also allegedly spotted together at a wedding rehearsal in Santa Barbara, Calif. on May 26, and more recently the pair reportedly spent time with Perry's parents in Santa Barbara, California.

"It's been tough on Rob, and Katy wants to be there for him," the source said. "She feels like she can give him a shoulder to lean on and understands first hand the pain that one feels when a relationship ends."

It is still unclear why exactly Pattinson and Stewart split however critics believe their relationship woes stemmed from the actress' 2012 cheating scandal. In July, Stewart was photographed intimately embracing her married "Snow White and The Huntsman" film director, Rupert Sanders, and although she publicly apologized to Pattinson for the tryst, the actor ultimately had difficulty trusting her.

"Kristen wanted to go straight back to where they'd been before they first split up [in July 2012] and pushed Rob really hard on it," a source told OK! magazine.

"She wanted the whole package: the house, the wedding and even the baby. It was all way too much for Rob to handle," the source added.
