Robert Pattinson NYSE Bell Ring: After Break-Up Ice Cream with Jon Stewart (VIDEO)
Robert Pattinson will surface this week to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, in promotion of his upcoming film "Cosmopolis."
Pattinson will make his second appearance this week, following a harsh breakup with actress Kristen Stewart, which has put both stars in the spotlight although both have been quiet about speaking publicly.
On Tuesday morning, Pattinson will ring the New York Stock Exchange bell in relation to his character in the film who is a wealthy Manhattan assets manager.
Monday night Pattinson also appeared on the "Daily Show" with Jon Stewart. While most of the interview was spent discussing Pattinson's role in the film, Stewart opened by offering the actor a tub of Ben and Jerry's as break up consolation food.
"Listen, the last time I had a bad breakup, Ben and Jerry got me through some of the tougher times," Stewart said. "So, I thought you and I could bond over this and talk about, 'Boy, you are better off, kick her to the curb. Whatevah!"
Pattinson was eager however to return the conversation to "Cosmopolis" which will be released on Friday. In the film, which is based on a book of the same name, Pattinson plays a billionaire named Eric Packer. The story of his life unfolds as Eric Parker takes a limo to the barber to have a haircut. The film itself has been met with critical reviews, although Pattinson has defended that it is, if nothing else, unique.
"Trying to explain what the movie is about is physically impossible," Pattinson said of the film, directed by David Cronenberg. "It's a very kind of eccentric - it's one of the only things I'll ever do where I can say I don't think this will ever be made again, or it hasn't been made before. Regardless of how people see it, at least it's something new."
