Robert Pattinson Promise to Kristen Stewart: Actor Stops Seeing Riley Keough Out of Respect?
Robert Pattinson previously promised Kristen Stewart that he would never date any of her friends and subsequently the actor has cut ties with Riley Keough, reports claim.
The British actor, 27, and Keough, who befriended Stewart after starring alongside her in the 2010 film "The Runaways," reportedly grew close after his May split from Stewart. Sources claimed the "Camp X-Ray" actress, 23, was crushed after learning about romance rumors surrounding Pattinson and Keough, 24, and as a result he reportedly ended the friendship.
"Rob's schedule is very busy and he is in no mood to start another relationship, especially with someone so close to Kristen," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
"He doesn't want to be 'that guy.' He doesn't want people to think he is stealing a friend in the wake of the relationship with Kristen," the source explained. "He loved Kristen and always will look at her fondly, but he doesn't want to be defined by her, and by dating Riley it would only continue the link to Kristen."
On Saturday Pattinson was reportedly seen arriving at Stewart's Los Feliz home where his white Durango was parked for two hours. The "Twilight" stars reportedly discussed their relationship and Pattinson promised Stewart that he would stop seeing Keough.
"Rob did tell people that he reassured her that he wasn't going to date her friends and make things more awkward between them, because the breakup is and has been awkward enough," the source revealed.
The pair, who dated on-and-off for four years, had not seen one another since parting ways in May and the reunion allegedly triggered mixed emotions.
"He stopped by on the weekend and they both spent some time together, catching up. Kristen was really happy to see him, but I think in the end they were both sad because they still have feelings for each other," another source explained.
In July 2012, Pattinson was left heartbroken when Stewart admittedly cheated with her married "Snow White and The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. The incident prompted her to release a public apology, but their relationship was never the same.
