Robert Pattinson Spotted at Cannes; Working on New Album, Friend Confirms (PHOTOS)
Robert Pattinson has been working on his first solo album, a friend recently confirmed.

Brady Corbett, who is close to the "Twilight" star, revealed the actor's plans to launch his first ever album. Pattinson rose to worldwide stardom in 2008 following his breakout role as Edward Cullen in the film adaptations of the "Twilight" novels and he has been closely affiliated with the film's franchise ever since however, he reportedly now wants to focus on his true passion, which is music.

"He's been busy producing his first album, which will be coming soon," Corbett told the Sun U.K. adding that the British actor has "always wanted to be a musician but got caught up in the success of the 'Twilight' saga."
Pattinson, 27, took a break from the studio to attend the 67th Cannes Film Festival in the French Riviera where he is promoting two films "The Rover" and "Maps to the Stars."
The British actor appeared to be in good spirits while posing alongside his Australian actor co-star Guy Pearce on the red carpet. Pattinson wore a green blazer, fitted jeans and a black shirt while waving to onlookers.
Fans have been speculating whether the actor has plans to reunite with his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, who is also set to attend the festival in coming days. The pair split in May 2013 however they are said to be on good terms and still keep in contact.
"Kristen and Rob will not see each other at Cannes," a source said according to Showbiz Spy.
"Their films are screening far a part from each other. Rover and Map to the Stars screen May 18 and May 19 respectively," the insider explained. "Kristen's Clouds of Sils Maria doesn't screen until the end of the festival around May 24. Kristen is planning on attending even though she's in the middle of filming."
In October, five months after the split, Pattinson and Stewart were photographed enjoying a dog date with their respective pets in Los Angeles which reignited reconciliation speculation. The pair have dated on-and-off since meeting of the 2008 set of "Twilight."
"Rob is beyond ready to cut the cord with Kristen. They were definitely in love, but the relationship has run it's course and he is ready to move on," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
