Robin Thicke Speaks Out About Miley Cyrus: 'I'm Not Really Paying Attention'

Robin Thicke spoke about he and Miley Cyrus' now infamous performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Cyrus has taken a great deal of heat for her provocative performance in which she danced sugestively, or "twerked" with Thicke, as he sung his hit "Blurred Lines."

In an interview with Oprah on her show "Oprah's Next Chapter," Thicke spoke about the performance. The full interview will be airing this Sunday.

"People ask me all the time, 'Do you twerk?' I'm like, 'Listen, I'm the twerkee. I'm twerked upon. I don't twerk myself, okay? I'm just twerked upon,'" the singer explained to Oprah.

He claimed that the controversy should surround MIiey, and not him, as he was not fully aware of what she was doing.

"I was on stage. I didn't see it. So to me, I'm walking out towards Miley [and] I'm not thinking sex. I'm thinking fun, you know? I mean her and I don't have that kind of ... You have to remember, I'm singing my butt off. I'm sitting there. I'm looking up at the sky. I'm not really paying attention to all that," the "Blurred Lines" singer said.

Meanwhile, Cyrus is experience a great deal of success despite the criticism of her behavior. Her most recently released music videos have broken viewership records.

In June her video "We Can't Stop" earned 10.7 million views in 24 hours, and her newest music video for her single "Wrecking Ball" has already shattered that record. "Wrecking Ball" earned over 18 million views in 24 hours, according to Entertainment Weekly.
